| Tummy tuck with a breast lift or reduction, one operation | From about €17,500 | The classic mummy makeover: a long operation and several nights in hospital |
| Full tummy tuck | €8,000 to €12,000 | Muscle repair, a new belly button position, nights in hospital |
| Mini tummy tuck | €5,600 to €7,900 | Loose skin below the belly button only, sometimes a day case |
| Full tummy tuck with liposuction | €10,400 to €11,500 | Liposuction of the flanks adds theatre time |
| Breast lift | €6,000 to €8,100 | The type of lift and scar, a night's stay or a day case |
| Breast lift with implants | From about €9,500 | The implants chosen, theatre time |
| Liposuction, one to three areas | €2,200 to €7,000 | How many areas, local or general anaesthetic |
| Consultation with the surgeon | €195 to €300 | Free at some clinics, sometimes taken off the price |
Normally included
- The surgeon, the hospital and the anaesthetist for every part
- Every night in hospital
- The support garment and bra, and drains if used
- Wound checks and follow-up for months afterwards
What pushes it up or down
- Up: more parts, implants, a full rather than a mini tummy tuck, extra nights
- Up: two separate operations, as the hospital and anaesthetic are paid twice
- Down: fewer parts, a mini tummy tuck
- Not a factor: the county. Prices outside Dublin sit in the same range
Euro, the full price for each operation. Our guide, not a quote: the surgeon prices it after examining you, in writing.

Questions
What people ask
What is a mummy makeover?
It's not one operation but a name for combining surgery after pregnancy and breastfeeding: usually a tummy tuck and a breast lift, sometimes with implants or liposuction. They can be done together or months apart.
How much is a mummy makeover in Ireland?
A tummy tuck with a breast lift or reduction in one operation costs from about €17,500 in Ireland. On their own, a full tummy tuck is €8,000 to €12,000 and a breast lift €6,000 to €8,100.
How long is the recovery?
The tummy tuck sets the pace: about four to six weeks off work, no lifting or strenuous exercise for about six weeks, and no driving for several weeks. Plan full-time help with small children for at least the first two weeks.
When is the right time?
When your family is complete, your weight is steady and you've stopped breastfeeding for some months. Surgeons generally suggest waiting about six months to a year after you stop breastfeeding before breast surgery, so your breasts settle to their new size and shape.
Will it fix the gap in my tummy muscles?
A full tummy tuck can stitch separated muscles back together, but physiotherapy comes first. The HSE says a gap between the tummy muscles is normal in pregnancy and can take up to six weeks after the birth to close, sometimes longer. It advises asking your GP for a physiotherapy referral if you're worried about the gap after eight weeks.
Is it safer to have two operations?
A large US study of nearly 25,000 tummy tucks found serious complications in about 3 in 100 when a tummy tuck was done on its own, and a risk about 50% higher, after allowing for other factors, when it was combined with other operations. Splitting them means two anaesthetics and two recoveries but shorter operations. Ask your surgeon which they'd do for you.
Who will contact me?
One clinic, not five. We pass your enquiry to one Irish clinic, and they contact you to arrange a consultation with a surgeon. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
